What to expect.

We plan proposals as private cruises, usually at sunset. We agree the timing and the bay with you in advance, set up the champagne and decorations, and can arrange a photographer who stays out of sight until the moment.

Inclusions differ across the fleet. The Cat 17 Epidaurum, for example, includes the skipper, fuel, SUP, towels, insurance and cleaning, but not drinks or hotel transfer. Add-ons also depend on the boat: everything is possible on the motor yachts, while speedboats and catamarans take decorations and premium drinks only. The boat matched to your event will have its exact inclusions listed in your offer.

Planning a proposal on a boat in Dubrovnik

A proposal on a boat in Dubrovnik is mostly about timing. Most couples choose a 2–3 hour cruise at sunset, so the date and start time are agreed with you in advance and adjusted to the sunset for that week. In June the sun sets around 8:20 pm; by September it is closer to 7 pm.

Choosing the boat

The Ferretti 591 suits a proposal with family on board for the celebration afterwards, and can take catering and full decorations.
The Excursion 34 speedboat suits a couple on their own, with decorations and champagne.
For a couple, the skipper is usually the only crew and stays at the helm during the moment.

Keeping it a surprise

Tell us what your partner thinks the evening is. Most people book it as an ordinary sunset cruise, and the pickup from your accommodation fits that story. Send us the song and the cue in advance; the skipper starts it on a small hand signal you agree beforehand. If you book a photographer, they board first and stay out of sight until the question is asked.

Keep the ring with you rather than handing it to the crew. Rose petals, candles and a champagne upgrade can be added to the included sparkling wine, and a restaurant table ashore can be booked for afterwards.

If the weather does not cooperate

We watch the forecast with you 3–5 days ahead. If the evening looks wrong, the cruise moves to another date at no charge or the deposit is refunded in full. Already thinking further ahead? See weddings and vow renewals on a boat.

Questions about proposals.

How private will it be? Will anyone else be on board?

Completely private. The boat is reserved exclusively for you and any guests you choose to bring. The crew, usually skipper alone for a couples proposal, stay at the helm during the moment itself, out of sight and earshot.

Can you arrange a photographer to capture the moment?

Yes. We work with two local photographers who specialise in proposals on boats. They board before you and stay out of sight until the moment. Add it to your enquiry.

Can I send the music cue in advance?

Yes. Send us the track and the exact moment you want it cued, the skipper will hit play on your signal (we use a small hand gesture you will agree in advance).

What if she/he says no? (Or what if the weather is bad?)

We cannot help with the first. For the second, we will reschedule the trip at no charge or refund the deposit in full, just say the word. Weather windows for proposals are usually planned 3–5 days ahead and we will watch the forecast with you.
