Dubrovnik sunset cruise, private 2-hour boat tour.
A two-hour private cruise along the city walls at sunset, with one swim stop and a glass of wine.
The cruise leaves about 90 minutes before sunset, so the departure time changes through the season. In two hours you pass the city walls, stop for one swim in a quiet cove and have a glass of wine on the way back.
Tip. In July the sun sets behind Lokrum. Ask the skipper to anchor on the island's west side.
The route, stop by stop.
Indicative route. Every trip is private, so you can swap, skip or add a stop.

What you see on a Dubrovnik sunset cruise
A Dubrovnik sunset cruise shows the city from the side most visitors never see: the seaward face of the walls, built straight onto the rock. Leaving the Old Port, you pass under the Minčeta and Bokar fortresses and along the western walls toward Fort Lovrijenac, which stands on its own 37-metre cliff outside the city gates.
Lokrum lies about ten minutes from the harbour. The island is a protected nature reserve with no overnight stays, and the last public boats leave in the early evening, so its coves are usually quiet by the time you anchor.
Best time of year
- May, June and September: warm evenings, fewer boats under the walls and the sea already pleasant for a swim.
- July and August: the warmest water, but more traffic around the Old Port, so a private boat is useful for picking a quieter spot.
- October: earlier departures and cooler air after sunset; a jacket is worth bringing.
Who it suits
The cruise is short enough to fit around a dinner booking, which makes it popular with couples, small groups celebrating a birthday and families with children who will not sit through a long day at sea. It is also one of the most requested settings for a proposal; our engagement page explains how we plan the moment discreetly with the skipper.
Changing the route
Because the boat is private, the skipper can lengthen the trip towards three hours with a second cove or a slow return past Lapad, or end at the boarding point closest to your restaurant. For larger groups or anyone who wants a bigger deck, a motor yacht is the usual choice.
Phones and cameras get the best light in the twenty minutes after the sun drops, when the walls stay lit from the west. For photo spots and timing, read our guide to sunset cruises in Dubrovnik. Prices are on request; we send an itemised quote by email or WhatsApp.
