Dubrovnik airport to Lapad transfer: arrival steps

A Dubrovnik airport to Lapad transfer begins once you are through the terminal. Flights from outside the Schengen Area go through passport control first; after that come baggage reclaim, the customs channel and the arrivals hall, where the driver meets you. In July and August the passport queue can take a while, so there is no need to rush.

Lapad and Babin Kuk

Lapad is the green peninsula west of the Old Town, with Gruž harbour on one side and open sea on the other. Most of Dubrovnik’s larger beach hotels are here and on Babin Kuk, at its tip. The pedestrian promenade along Lapad bay is closed to cars, so the drop-off point depends on which side of it your hotel stands.

Useful to know

Gruž, next to Lapad, is the city’s ferry and cruise port, a short drive from most hotels on the peninsula.
City buses link Lapad with the Pile gate, so many guests stay here and go into the Old Town by bus or taxi.
For private apartments, send the street name and house number; lanes on the hillside can be narrow.
