Speedboat hire in Dubrovnik: what it is good for
Speedboat rental in Dubrovnik suits groups who want to cover distance and spend the day in the water rather than in transit. All four of our speedboats are open-deck Excursion models for up to 12 guests, with a top speed of 44 knots and a local skipper at the helm. You do not need a boating licence, because we do not rent boats without a skipper.
An open deck means wind, sun and some spray. Each boat has a bimini top for shade, sun pads at the bow and stern, one toilet and a ladder or platform for getting in and out of the sea. There are no cabins, so these are day boats only.
Half-day and full-day routes
At a cruising speed of around 25 knots, the nearest Elaphiti island is about 20 minutes from Dubrovnik. Half a day is enough for several swim stops, for example on the four-hour Elaphiti Islands boat tour to Koločep, Lopud and Šipan.
Speed matters most on longer routes. A full day on a speedboat brings the outer islands within range: the Mljet National Park boat tour with its two saltwater lakes, or the walled town on the Korčula boat tour. The skipper suggests a route for the weather and your group, and changes it during the day if you want to stay longer somewhere.

How to choose between our speedboats
The differences are small: all four share the open layout, the bimini and the 12-guest limit. They come down to age, length and engines.
- Excursion 36 (2026): the newest and longest at 11 m, with twin 350 HP engines and a wide swim platform at the stern.
- Excursion 34 (2024): 10.5 m, 425 HP, refitted in 2026.
- Excursion 34 (2023): 10.3 m, twin 300 HP engines, refitted in 2026.
- Excursion 34 (2022): 10.3 m, twin 250 HP engines, refitted in 2026, with the same layout as the 2023 boat.
If the Excursion 36 is booked on your date, an Excursion 34 covers the same routes. Our guide to choosing a boat in Dubrovnik compares speedboats with motor yachts and catamarans.
