Koločep
Koločep, locally known by the name Kalamota, is one of the three inhabited Elaphite Islands. The warm Mediterranean climate of the island and its beautiful vegetation make it a perfect place for a relaxing summer day. Koločep is the closest to the mainland and the city of Dubrovnik.
As the smallest of the Elaphite Islands, Koločep offers a perfect destination to escape the fast-paced city life. The crystal clear sea surrounding the island will amaze you and invite you to take a swim. While doing so, you can explore the many bays and caves. The Blue Cave is a must-see on the island, and it is accessible by swimming to and in it.
Lopud
Lopud Island is most certainly known for one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dubrovnik region – Šunj Beach. This white sandy beach, surrounded by beautiful greenery, is a rarity on the Croatian coastline, and it is definitely worth your time.
Besides the beautiful nature, there are some historic sites on the island you can visit as well, such as many 15th and 16th-century churches, remains of the Rector’s palace and the Fortress ruins, as well as a 15th-century Monastery that overlooks Lopud village.
Šipan
As the largest of thirteen Elaphite Islands, Šipan is one of the most popular destinations for a day trip. The island’s fascinating history, Mediterranean nature, and beautiful fishing village offer plenty to see, or you can simply take a swim in the clear sea surrounding the island.
Šipan’s rich history offers plenty of sightseeing, such as the 11th century St Peter’s Church, Late Gothic Rector’s Palace built in the 15th century, and the Church of the Holy Spirit built in 1569. If you are in a search for the perfect, peaceful getaway, Šipan is just the right choice for you.
